2021 BROWARD COUNTY TAX CERTIFICATE SALE

The Broward County Tax Certificate Sale will open for bidder registration on April 29, 2021.

The deadline to complete bidder registration and submission of required deposits is May 9, 2021, 5:00 p.m. (EST).

The sale will be conducted May 25 through May 26, 2021.


2021 Tax Certificate Sale Policy:

Each and every bidder (hereafter "end user," "bidding entity," "you," "user," or "person") desiring to bid in the 2021 Broward County Tax Certificate Sale must agree to the terms and conditions of this policy as well as execute the Bidder Declaration of Compliance concerning fair bidding practices which is part of the policies governing the 2021 tax certificates sale.

For the 2021 auction, all bidder accounts are required to be registered independently, as all registered bidders will be treated equally under the same rules and regulations to promote equity and the fair acquisition of tax certificates.

The 2021 tax certificate sale shall be conducted in accordance with Florida Statutes. The tax certificates sale will be uniform, fair, efficient, and accountable for all bidders registered to bid in the sale.

Each and every bidder may register to bid so long as the Bidder complies with Florida law and Broward County policy. The Broward County Records, Taxes and Treasury Division ("Tax Collector") reserves the right to require an affidavit or additional information from any Bidder. The Tax Collector requires prior to close of registration for each Bidder to post a qualifying initial deposit equal to the greater of $2,000 or 10% of the Bidder's total intended purchases (additional funds can be deposited after closing of the registration).

By registering in the 2021 Broward County Tax Certificates Sale, any bidder automatically agrees and certify that they will abide by the Internal Revenue Service policies concerning Employee Identification Numbers. Each certificate shall be awarded to the person who will pay the taxes, interest, costs, charges and who will demand the lowest rate of interest, not in excess of the maximum rate of interest allowed by Florida law. Any person who fails or refuses to pay for any bid made is not entitled to bid or have any other bid accepted or enforced except as authorized by the Tax Collector and shall forfeit the minimum required deposit.

Please be advised that failure to file a sworn Participation Bidder Declaration or filing a false Participation Bidder Declaration will result in the Bidder being disqualified from this year's tax certificates sale and may result in the bidder being barred from subsequent tax certificates sales.
